چکیده [English] | ||
Background & purpose: Different training methods can affect the athletes’ physical performance in different ways. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of plyometric and sprint interval trainings on performance and some factors of physical fitness of teenager soccer players. Methodology: Thirty-three teenager soccer players (average age of 13.3 ± 0.6 year, weight 34.8 ± 5.5 kg, height 148.5 ± 6.1 cm) participated and were randomly divided into three group of plyometric training, sprint interval training and control training. The experimental groups underwent 6 weeks training protocols. Shapiro – Wilk test was used to determine the normalization of the data. To evaluate between group differences one way ANOVA was applied while pair group differences were tested using LSD post-hoc test, at significance level of P≤0.05. Results: Results showed plyometric and sprint interval training caused significant improvement in general speed (30 and 40 m), anaerobic power (with and without lactic acid), feet strength and power, and speed performance of teenager soccer players (PConclusion: Both plyometric and sprint interval trainings improve the factors of physical fitness and performance of teenager soccer players.
