| Abstract | ||
| The aim of this study was to identify and determine the causal relationships between the factors affecting the occurrence of high-risk behaviors among student-athletes. The method of this research was combined (qualitative-quantitative). In the qualitative part, the narrative-research method was used and in the quantitative part, the descriptive-correlation method was used. The statistical population of this study consisted of 21 students of the first year of high school in Hamedan who showed high-risk behavior. Based on the theoretical saturation, the total number of participants in the quality section who were purposefully selected was 21 was. Also, a small part of the statistical population included experts who were purposefully selected based on the criteria of expertise and 10 of them. The data collection tool was a semi-structured interview in the qualitative part and a questionnaire in the quantitative part. Brown and Clark (2006) narrative research method was used for qualitative data analysis and Demetel method was used for quantitative data analysis. Qualitative findings showed that the occurrence of high-risk behaviors of student-athletes under 50 primary concepts, 9 sub-themes and 3 main themes called psychological factors, social and economic factors and family factors are involved. In the quantitative part, it was found that the lower social class has the greatest effect on the occurrence of high-risk behaviors. It had the least impact. | ||
