چکیده [English] | ||
The purpose of the research was to investigate the role of academics boundary spanning in the entrepreneurship intention with the mediation of organizational agility in technical and engineering faculties of public universities in Tehran. The research method was quantitative- correlational studies using the structural equation method. The research population consisted of all faculty members of technical and engineering faculties of public universities in Tehran city in the number of 2189 people in 1402. Using Cochran's formula, the sample size was determined as 327 people and sampling was done using stratified (relative) random sampling. The data was collected using the boundary spanning researcher-made questionnaire of the faculty members, the entrepreneurial intention questionnaire of Barba-Sáncheza et al., and the organizational agility of Breu et al. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to determine the validity of the questionnaires and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to check the reliability of the instruments. Data analysis was done with Pearson correlation test and structural equation modeling technique with SPSS and LISREL 8.80 software. The findings showed that boundary spanning has a positive effect on entrepreneurial intention and organizational agility, and organizational agility has a significant effect on entrepreneurial intention. Also, the mediating role of organizational agility in the effect of boundary spanning on entrepreneurial intention was confirmed. The model fit evaluation indices also indicated the appropriate fit of the research model. Finally, it is suggested; The higher education system, by empowering the faculty members in the characteristics of academic boundary spanning and ability in agility, should lead the faculty members towards the commercialization of knowledge and the establishment of a company/institution (entrepreneurship).
