| In recent years, reducing pollutant emissions, improving energy consumption efficiency, and using novel aggregates have been the most important goals of the asphalt industry. The Production of Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) and steel slag (SS)-based asphalt mixtures were among the efforts made in this regard. Considering to the importance of moisture damage in WMA and steel slag asphalt mixtures, the moisture susceptibility of the WMA mixtures containing steel slag was evaluated in this research study. Two empirical methods, the Tensile Strength Ratio (TSR) and the Resilient Modulus Ratio (RMR), were used to evaluate the moisture susceptibility of the mixtures. The results indicated that the use of steel slag aggregates in WMA mixtures decreased the moisture susceptibility of the mixtures. However, mixtures containing limestone aggregates showed higher RMR values than those containing SS. This difference in the obtained results may be attributed to the limitations of empirical methods used for evaluation moisture susceptibility in asphalt mixtures. | ||
