| چکیده | ||
| EFL (English-as-a-foreign-language) teachers’ motivation to use CALL (Computer-Assisted Language Learning) in their classes plays a significant role in enhancing learning opportunities. Therefore, this study attempted to explore the role of action research in developing EFL teachers’ motivation to use CALL. Thus, we conducted a qualitative study in which eight EFL teachers participated in four AR workshops. Then, we analyzed the data collected through narratives and interviews using a thematic analysis. The findings showed the constructive role of AR in developing EFL teachers’ motivation to use CALL. We found that a) implementation of AR may lead to flourishing of motivation, b) AR may help teachers become reflective teachers who are more motivated, and c) AR may lead to the togetherness and coherence of self-determination theory components, all showing the critical role of AR in developing teachers’ motivation to use CALL. It can be concluded that the implementation of AR can develop EFL teachers’ basic psychological needs, which in turn develops their motivation to use CALL. The findings of this study have implications for EFL teacher education programs. | ||
